This is a recipe that I’ve made several times before and I just wanted to share it with you guys because it’s such a fun recipe. The recipe is from the book “The Best of the South” by Patricia Smith. The ingredients range from the simple, like the shark and corn to the exotic, like the ginger and pineapple.
The recipe is called Shark sticks because I wanted to call it that because you can just make a big pile of shark cartilage (from the fish that you butcher) and stick it on a wooden stick. You can use whatever fish you have around, just keep in mind that it needs to be cooked.
The most common thing I see mentioned in the shark recipe is to use the ginger, pineapple, and corn. I’m not sure if there are a ton of variations on this, but I did notice that these ingredients are pretty interchangeable.
The biggest problem I see with shark sticks is that if you have too many you’ll end up with an off-gassing, off-tasting mess. I have a similar recipe where I make a big pile of shark cartilage from the fish and stick it on a wooden stick. I then turn the stick into a pyramid with sticks sticking out of the bottoms. The pyramid sticks up like a shark’s mouth. You can use any fish, you just need to cook it.
I’ve made shark sticks before, but I always add salt, pepper, and a little lemon and parsley.
I dont use shark cartilage, but I have heard of people making shark sticks with fish. I have heard of people making shark sticks with tuna (and other fish). Ive made shark sticks with squid and shrimp and other fish. Ive made shark sticks that are even better than the ones Ive made with shark cartilage.
Ive often thought that sharks are a little too delicious. I guess Ive grown a little cynical after seeing the shark sticks people make. The main attraction for me is the fact that these stick-like monsters are made from fish. Shark sticks are so light and easy to use that they can be used for everything from dipping fish to using as a cooking method.
Shark sticks are a popular party favor in Japan, and I have also seen them being used for eating sushi. I guess their popularity in Japan is a reflection of the fact that sharks are pretty plentiful here. What I mean by that is that sharks are not that rare and I guess because people can go online and get cheap shark sticks.
This is an interesting trend. I’ve seen many shark-stick parties on the Internet. It’s not the same thing as having one in your home, but it’s still fun to have a party that involves eating shark sticks.
