Mr.Mr. is a new app from the folks at BVMC that allows you to control your coffee percolator via a remote. It’s really neat because it allows you to use your phone’s camera as a remote to control your bvmc. The app is free and available for iPhone and Android, but is also available for Windows Mobile and BlackBerry.
The app is nice because it’s really easy to use and takes no fancy hardware. It just needs you to put your phone into a bowl of coffee and attach your remote and it will be controlling your coffee percolator. As you might remember, I actually use this app to control my coffee maker several times a day.
The app is good, but the fact that it requires you to use your phone’s camera to get control of your coffee percolator is not so great. As a result, I keep my phone’s camera off most of the time to use the app. This isn’t as bad of a choice since I can keep my phone’s camera on and use the app, but it does mean that I have to use my phone’s camera a lot less.
The app is free, but requires you to download the app to use. If you do this frequently then you may want to look into the free version.

I think the main attraction of the free version is the ability to brew your own coffee. The paid version is much better for the taste and I highly recommend it.
