The truth is that replacing an airbag is actually quite simple. It takes about 30 seconds for a mechanic to install a new airbag, so you can go about your daily business without worrying about it.
But replacing an airbag doesn’t affect how long it takes for a car to start or what happens if it’s stolen. A mechanic will simply turn the airbags off and start the car immediately.
It’s also worth noting that airbags are not affected by the manufacturer of the vehicle they are installed in (which of course is BMW of all people). That being said, they can also wear out over time. BMW’s airbags have been recalled in the past due to damage from the manufacturing process.
According to WLTO they took about 10 seconds. And yes, it’s true airbags have been recalled and it’s been awhile since I’ve seen one.
No, theres no time limit. Just a few weeks or months.
Theres no time limit. Just few weeks or months, but I wouldnt be surprised if they take about a year.
I would expect the airbags to be replaced before BMWs airbags. It is more likely that the engine is seized up and only BMW is able to replace the airbags. It is the design of the airbags that is so important, they are designed to last the life of the car. They are not designed to be replacement parts.
I agree with that. The airbags in a BMW are not designed to replace BMWs airbags, they are designed to be part of the car.
The problem seems to be that airbags are designed to be part of the car and not replace them. The real problem is that the car is a completely redesigned product. They are not replacing anything. BMW may have just given them a new engine or added some new technology.
