The 2013 Lincoln MKT was not the original vehicle that was built. They did not use the MKT name but rather the MKT brand name, which was registered to General Motors in 2001. It was then very difficult to get the MKT to turn the opposite direction. I’m sure that in a few years, the MKT will be more aerodynamic, so maybe that will make it safer.
I think that the MKT problem is one of those that people have to think about before they buy the car, maybe they shouldn’t. Maybe the car is a good deal at first, but if they can’t handle the stress of driving it, or the carbon fiber exhaust, or the lightweight piston, or the ABS, they might be better off waiting for the next generation of the MKT.
Maybe. I think most MKT fans are just being overly cautious. This is a car that will be a best seller for years to come. The MKT was one of the first mass-produced cars to have ABS – and that’s a huge deal. That’s why so many MKT enthusiasts have been so unhappy with the car’s reliability, and why so many MKT owners are looking for a new car.
